Nickel is a grey quartzite quarried from a bedrock quarry in Brazil. Its rich, deep grey tones feature sweeping areas of lighter grey throughout. It will also have black spots scattered randomly in the slab. The intensity of the grey color will also vary, depending on the level of the quarry the slab came from. As a quartzite, it is a very durable surface that can be used for kitchen countertops without having the scratching and etching issues experienced with marble. During the polishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill in any natural pits, cracks, or fissures that may exist.
