Azul Platino is quarried from a bedrock quarry near the city of Vigo, Spain. It has been used in the Spanish market for hundreds of years. The cathedral in Santiago Di Compostela, Spain is made entirely of granite which was quarried in the Vigo area. This granite has a tight grain structure and can have slight white or black veining and may have small black spots. Slabs of Azul Platino are always large, which are a great choice for kitchens with over-sized islands. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity.
